Thanks for dropping by.
We are a creative writers group and meet at The Fort Smith Public Library on Rogers Avenue in Fort Smith, AR on the second Sunday of every month at 1:30 PM. Our purpose is to encourage aspiring authors and assist beginning writers. Several of our members are published authors. We are affiliated with the Arkansas Ridge Writers and Oklahoma Writers' Federation, Inc.
The group strives to provide an annual workshop open to the community for the purpose of attracting new members, encourage aspiring writers, and promote the achievements of current members. We promote other area writing groups and encourage attendance for all regional writers' workshops and conferences.
Our monthly meetings usually last about two hours and consist of announcements, a program or guest speaker, and roundtable discussion. It is informal, and guests are welcome. We are not for profit, and exist as a social group to encourage and support aspiring writers, and promote the quest of improving skills and knowledge of the literary world. Members who join the group may donate $10.00 per year that helps cover the expense of copying/printing handouts and materials used for the meeting. Refreshments are served at the meetings, and members may donate up to $2.00 per month to help defray the cost of providing the refreshments and serving utensils. Notice that there are no mandatory dues or fees, only donations for maintenance of the group.
